The Baltic seaside resorts also make ideal bases for trips on horseback or by bike, tourists have been coming to the Baltic sea coast all year round.

Sopot Promenade – on both sides of the pier there is a wide sandy beach. On the sides of the Bohaterów Monte Cassino Street there are countless shops, cafés and restaurants. A well renowned Sopot Forest Opera has 4500 seats. In the summer months many performances, musicals and musical festivals are held here. To the east of Gdańsk only a narrow stripe of land separates the Vistula Lagoon from the Baltic Sea. The Vistula Sandbar belongs in part to Poland and in part to the Kaliningrad District (Russia). On the east coast there are some really impressive beaches. The reed on its southern side nests rare water bird species.

The towns Kąty Rybackie and Krynica Morska are popular summer resorts on the narrow land strip, Elbląg and Frombork, are connected with sightseeing ship routes across the Vistula Lagoon.

Lakes, Masuria – Land of a Thousand Lakes

There are too many attractions in Masuria to enjoy them all in one vacation: thousands of lakes and waterways, marinas for yachts, taverns for sailors, friendly fishing villages and equestrian clubs. The crystal clear waters promise pleasant bathing, and the abundance of fish species tempts anglers.

Most of the lakes in the region are small to medium-sized lakes, hidden deep in the forest, with high banks or shorelines overgrown with rushes and teeming with various species of water birds. Some of them, like lakes Sniardwy and Mamry, are very large. Others, like Lake Wigry, have fantastic shapes. Still others, like the small Lake Jaczno, captivate with the unique color of the waters (malachite green).

Not far from the Masurian lakes is the Suwalskie Lake District, with its smaller but equally charming lakes and picturesque watercourses. The region is ideal for those seeking peace and quiet. You can still find uninhabited islands here, perhaps try your hand at the kind of life Robinson Crusoe experienced!

Fans of the mountains have all of the southern Poland to choose from. The mountains here range from the lofty Tatras, Alpine in character to the lower and more rounded Sudety Mountains in the west and the thinly inhabited Bieszczady Mountains in the east. Everyone’s fascination is Zakopane, a town sitting on the borderline between the high mountain medows and the rocky Tatra summits. The Karkonosze Range is a part of Sudety Mountains and the enchanted land of Lower Silesia. From the top of Mt.
