Białka Tatrzańska and Poronin are popular holiday spots close to Zakopane. Their gentle slopes are equipped with many ski lifts and picturesque, well-prepared skiing trails. In the Winter you can enjoy cross-country and downhill skiing. The slopes here are gentle, the ski runs are wide and well-groomed. There are twenty ski-lifts, with two chairlifts one taking three persons at a time and of a length of 1380m and the other one 800m long, carrying four people at a time; T-bar, and saucer lifts. The capacity of all the lifts in Białka hovers around 15000 people per hour it is about 10.000 people per hour, the ski runs are 15km long. What attracts winter sports lovers from all over Poland are lots of ski- lifts located on natural slopes, with different degrees of difficulty and various lengths. The ski runs are carefully prepared with the use of snow grooving machines, snow cannons, and they are perfectly lit which enables the skiers to enjoy skiing at night as well.
In the Summer, beautiful views from the neighbouring hills over the Tatra, Gorce and Pieniny Mountains encourage to take a stroll, cycle, or ride on a horseback.
